Makeup I Want! (And Own)

Confession : I wasn't the little girl who'd climb onto her mother's dressing table & smear lipstick like warpaint My mother forced me to wear makeup for school talent shows or for weddings or functions of that kind. Smearing on blood red lipstick & then making me press my lips together & pucker up - I hated that!. Fast forward to today & I still do the exact same thing except  I've learnt to love it. Maybe it's the dramatic difference seen between the "before" & "after" that's got me hooked or maybe I just like to switch things up a bit when things get too mundane or maybe it's the advertisers making me feel insufficient & insecure about myself

My makeup routine consists of moisturiser or sunscreen, kohl eyeliner on the lower lashes & lip balm. I've never owned foundation or concealer in my life not that I've never considered it or worn it but I never found the need to conceal or 'found-ate' my face. I know that many girls out there have skin issues like redness or discolouration or acne or scars & to them I say go for it! In fact that's what they were made for. But if you have normal, clear skin I don't see the need for (no offense) fancy schmancy nude paint. 

No makeup (but still a heck load of makeup to be worn) tutorial makers on Youtube, I'm looking at YOU.

Also as the ancient Project Runway adage which aptly describes my relationship with makeup goes -  "You're either in or you're out."

So as we Indians are at the threshold of welcoming the makeup chain store goddess Sephora into our land, I've compiled a dream list of makeup shizz I need but may never afford  as I wile away my time dreaming about Sephora opening in Mumbai & hoping that it doesn't take as long as it took Forever 21 to open its stores in Mumbai. Hmmpf.

And below is the makeup I currently own. It's not much but I think I've got the basics down (besides foundation & concealer)

1. ColorBar Compact - Tan {I don't use this too often but it's perfect for my skin tone}
2. ColorBar Eyeshadow - Black Tie {It's sparkly & that's about it.}
3. Inglot Sleeks - 54 {Love that it's shaped like a test tube!}
4. Vega Makeup Brush set {Super cheap}
5. ColorBar Blush - 05 Just Earth {Prefer this natural brownish red than a bright red or pink}
6. Avon Moisturizing Lipbalm - Grapefruit & Mint {My favourite!!}
7. Inglot Pencil Eye Liner - 102 Brown {It's an amazing light brown, not your typical eye liner colour}
8. Bodyshop Born Lippy Lip Balm - Pink Guava {Smells amazing but it barely does it's job.}
9. Avon Nailwear pro - Coral Beat {I own lots of other shades but this one's my favourite & it's almost running out!}
10. Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick Creme - Baby Berry {Sounds creepy but the colour is a beautiful purplish - maroon. If that makes sense}
11. Avon Glimmersticks eye liner- Blackest Black & Saturn Grey {I use the black one almost every day. It's way better than Maybelline's Colossal Kajal - which by the way isn't dark enough & breaks easily} 
12. Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - Black {This is perfect if you want THE perfect winged/cat eye liner. It deserves the 'Drama' in it's name}
13. Maybelline Colorsensational - 530 Fatal Red {It's the perfect shade of red for my skin tone although I use just a  little on a lip brush for a more defined lip. Lip liner? What's that?}
14. Maybelline (ah-gain) Fruit Jelly - Berry Bella {Super glossy & tastes amazing, if you're into tasty lipgloss that is}
15. Nyx Eye Liner - In Black {Another daily liner but not as impressive as the Avon one}
16. Maybelline (I own too much of this ughh) The Hyper Curl Volum' Express Mascara - Black {Perfect Mascara & an added bonus - Waterproof!}

By looking at this you may think Maybelline sponsors my blog but I just love Maybelline products. Value for money & amazingly on trend. I'd like to open up to other makeup brands, I even contemplated on buying the famous Chambor orange lipstick but I keep sticking to Maybelline, Colorbar and Avon.
